The USA, Canada, nor Mexico could advance to the quarterfinals of this year’s World Cup, yet FIFA expects these football minnows to host the 2026 world cup. It’s a disgrace. Only nations that care about football should host World Cups.

You mean, like the powerhouse nation of Qatar?

I hate the fact that we’re gonna host it because I hate football fanatics , but probably have the best infrastructure to host it tho.

Qatar is another bad-at-football petro state that doesn’t deserve a World Cup

The Arab nations are really passionate about football with even the most minor games televised.
Some may not be great at it, but the love it all the same.

Passionate about football? Yes.
Good at football? Hell no.
Good at bribery and slavery? Oh absolutely yes.

And the stadiums already exist without the need to kill thousands of migrant workers. Imagine that.

This sounds dumb as hell, you realized the united states alone has huge futbol fans (not americans). I have not met a Mexican that does not like futbol.

I wonder how much money Delta-AeroMexico, Interjet,Volaris, Air Canada, Westjet, Southwest, and United are going to make under the guise of “sharing" the world cup.

You realize it’s still a business right?
Maybe it will get n ations with large populations interested in the game?
Tapping into the American market would benefit them, hosting the event could help do that.

H osting world cups in places where world cups are not as popular is good for business. It will generate more buzz in popularity in that locality, which will create new fans, which will generate greater revenue for the organizing agency.
It also reduces negative press generated by the chaos that descends upon communities where it is popular, when local fans conflict with the incoming crush of non-local fans.

Yes! Came here to say the same thing, we love our football... but I think he’s talking about soccer... we don’t give a flying fuck about soccer.
